View Point

View Point, an off-shoot of People’s Voice, is a daily call-in talk show which airs primarily on the Voice of St. Maarten (PJD2)1300AM.

Although following for the most part the same format of the Sunday morning program, View Point differs slightly with more grassroots topics and guests.

Equally, if not more popular than People’s Voice, View Point invites guests from a cross-section of the society. Some of the more interesting constant callers to both programs over the years include, Claude York aka “Bobo the Cowboy,” “Calypso Barbara,” Mr. Roumou and the late Theophillus Priest known to everyone as “Mr. Speaker” because of his unique use of the parliamentary term during his call-ins and guest appearances on View Point, People’s Voice and other radio and TV talk shows.

View Point, which airs Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 1 pm,.made it’s debut on the radio in June 1996. Technical assistant of View Point is Joanne Lewis, a radio personality who hosts her own music show on PJD2.

Some of the guests hosts of the program over the years include businesswoman Lisa Euton and Former State Secretary Erno Labega. The Island’s top comedian Fernando Clarke is the co-host of both talk shows.
